i swear this HALLOWEEN was going to be hard since i had so many costumes to make. i started stressing out, i got tired easily but i kept pushing myself for the 1 week span that i had until vegas. BUT there were last minute changes that made me just keep my mouth shut. i went my separate way and made a costume with in 3 HOURS..
at first we were suppose to be the "sailor scouts" [all from the cartoon or should i say anime "sailor moon"] and this is how my work had started:
it started off with the bows:
then it was those complicated PLEATS! the sewing then ironing then pinning then adding the elastic..oh boy it was a struggle:
and with the elastic, heres the finishing product:
the upper area was a bit complicated due to the "sailor fuku" that i had to put together, i had to get everyones measurements all over again and i drew it out to help me better:
after sewing in the white ribbon onto the "sailor fuku" it was all put together:
FRONT:
THE BACK:
the OTHERS:
althought we didnt use these costumes..i had a lot of fun making them =]
after making the decision that we werent going to be sailor moon...we had to keep our options open and make every thing easier since we only had 2 days until our departure. since it was my day off, i did something very last minute.
no i wasnt POCAHONTAS nor was i SACAGEWEA..LOLR
i was just a "NATIVE INDIAN"
and yes i sewed all this in a 3 hour span:
NATIVE INDIAN COSTUME:
Beige ribbed knit: $12.99+ half off
Brown Fringes: $4.99 a yard
Aztec print [shown as a hippy head band]: $2.99
Eyelets [used to make the head band stay in place] $2.99 for 15
feather earing: $3.99 for a pack
Needles&Threads: PRICELESS
All the costumes turned out legit! Too bad you didn't get to wear the first ones.. For sure there wouldn't be anyone elses as them. But great job!
